I'm showing up for young Aussies & their mental health! 🤙🏼

I've signed up to the Gnarly90 challenge to create real change in a Gnarly way...

I am going to spend 90 minutes per week on occupations meaningful to me! This could be doing a puzzle, crocheting, exercise, learning something new, gardening or anything else you can think of! Something extra, something I always put off doing because “it’s not important”.

As an occupational therapist, I believe that occupation (the doing) is to feel belonging and overall support our experience as a human being and keep us connected. Connection is so important to mental health and wellbeing and can so easily be missed, especially by youth today.

Over the past few years, I dropped so many of the meaningful things I love and threw myself into work. I was missing the belonging, connection and experience of enjoying life even though this is what I do!

This challenge is about prevention and creating safe spaces for young people to be and feel connected. Gnarly Neighbours has done this and any funds raised help keep an open door, safe space, and free programs every day. Prevention, not band aid fixes.

My goal is $500 which reaches 100+ young people.

If you can, donate, join my team, or create your own 90. I’ll be updating socials every week to let you know how I go.
