I'm showing up for young Aussies & their mental health! 🤙🏼
-
Name your 90
🌼 90 days of no processed foods and any type of daily movement , from a walk to silly lounge room dancing.
💄 I’ll be going out makeup free once a week.
💕I’ll be doing an act of kindness each week.
Say why it matters to you
I know what it’s like to be a kid/teen who didn’t have a great home life & had little direction and I don’t want our youth to carry that pain into their futures.
For me the skating days at the local high school in camberwell was my safe place.
It was where I could escape for a while and feel free, belong, connect.
I wish back then we had a Gnarly Neighbours!
Every young person deserves somewhere that they feel they belong to, rain, hail or shine .
For the next 90 days I’m showing up for our youth.
I want to live what I hope our kids can see, that health, self love and compassion matter.
The truth is the first two will be hard for me. Yes I’m craving chocolate right now…
No makeup ! I was told I look unwell/tired without it and so I feel the pressures to always wear it especially being a makeup artist .
So although the no makeup challenge is minor to so many, for me it’s important and I’m hoping I’ll learn to feel good , naturally and show people to embrace yourself naturally.
Acts of kindness I’m excited for… ❤️
Who it helps:
One in four of our youth struggle with their mental health.
Suicide is the leading cause of death for Aussie teens.
These aren’t just numbers.
They are cries for connection, belonging and hope.
This is why I’m doing the Gnarly90.
It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about showing up, making small shifts and sparking conversations.
If my 90 days of choices can shine a light for even one young person it will be worth every moment.

Gnarly90 update
Saturday 22nd Nov Most of my updates are on my socials. I upload a video each week of bits and pieces. This challenge has been great for my own mental health and health in general. It’s also opened my eyes up to how important community is for kids, I always knew but it’s made me realise you can make change if you really push yourself and have a drive. I’m studying a diploma of community services case management and doing something like this is very much why I’m studying it. Mental health is so important. Share

Update
Friday 29th Aug I have been forgetting to update! Apologies as life gets busy with a huge assessment I’m completing. But I’ve been consistent with the challenge! It has its days that’s for sure. Bad weather hasn’t been motivating ! But I’m so happy I signed up. Last week I took Karen out to lunch , this week I’m going to be giving away new things…
