Gardening is vital in how it lets me create, and grow, a safe haven where I can feel at peace and connected to the world around me. Poor mental health responses and systems have led, in some parts or entirely to the deaths of my mother Heather, died by suicide in 2002, my sister Stacey, died by acute alcohol toxicity after release from rehab, and an accidental death of my brother, Scott, died by drowning whilst climbing rocks at night at Williamstown beach. I believe that better care of each of these individuals and more would have prevented their deaths. No bandaids will fix mine and my family's grief.
Who it helps
Mention Gnarly Neighbours and that funds keep an open door, safe space, and free programs every day. Prevention, not band aid fixes.
Set a goal
I'm hoping that whilst I can raise awareness that I can give to Gnarly Neighbours, who I have followed online for the past year and are doing an incredible job of inciting change in mental health services in Australia. I've picked the goal of 90 bucks per person I've watched the "system" fail in the most irreversible ways.

This is for all the beautiful people who still want to support this initiative.

I'm upping my target from $270 to $3000.

$1000 in honour of Heather, Stacey and Scott.

Saying their names so much has been so hard.

I'm putting all my fuel into Jayden at Gnarly to reach more kids across the state and hopefully, the nation.
